English is our global language. Knowing English increases your chances whether it is for your future job, socialising with friends around the world or going online. It is the language of international communication. At our school we prepare our today’s pupils for tomorrow’s world.

In all grades we provide communicative language classes including a solid foundation in grammar and vocabulary at a high level. In the first three years you follow three hours of English a week during which you work with the Oxford workbook Solutions, each year on a different level: elementary, pre-intermediate and intermediate. These books offer a wide range of grammar, vocabulary, cultural themes and everyday English as well. You learn English not only by learning grammar and words, but also through speaking English together, reading novels, watching films and listening to songs and television programs. In year four, five and six you explore British and American literature, you improve your English reading, listening, writing and speaking skills and prepare for further education at HBO or university level. Learning to understand academic texts and exploring the English speaking world are part of the program as well. Pupils in year four always enjoy the school trip to London very much!

If you want to learn English even faster and you would like to explore the language and its culture even better, then Fast Lane English (FLE) is something for you. If you do not have the time to take those two extra hours of FLE, but you still want to improve your English at an increased pace, then the Anglia program is worth considering. There are no extra classes and it offers and tests your level step by step. You can work at your own level as the examinations are offered twice a year. However, most pupils do one exam per year and in this way steadily improve their English. You will receive an internationally recognised certificate for every level obtained and the Master’s certificate provides proof of your high-level achievement and easy access to many international universities.
